smiledog is based off a lot of things ^^ to me he is comparable to illness. obviously this manifests in him literally as acting like a computer virus and "spreading" through interaction like physical sickness does. but also he is a very unsubtle metaphor for mental illness. and enablers/abusers over the internet and the effect they have on the vulnerable. womp womp

smiledog has associations with medical (especially disease-based) imagery, computer virus imagery, shady corners and actions on the web, dogs as companions and aggressors to humans, red, black, hallucinations, and the subjectivity of art and reality.
